The Old Testament promises of God to Abraham form a foundational plank in the platform of Premillennialism. In Genesis 12-17, God made three distinct promises to Abraham and much of Premillennial theory is founded on the belief that cataclysmic events will occur because of these promises and their FUTURE fulfillment. But have these promises already been fulfilled? If so, in what way and what is left to be fulfilled concerning the nation of Israel?

The microwave is an amazing invention! It’s instant, cheap, and care-free. And isn’t that what many are looking for when it comes to religion? There’s a time and a place for the convenience of a microwave. There’s also a time and a place for self-gratification. But we’ve been invited to "taste and see that the Lord is good!" Why, then, would we settle for cheap imitations? This lesson examines several of those knock-offs and encourages us to settle for nothing less than the real thing.

A Diligent Faith

“Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end. ” – Hebrews 3:12-14
The Hebrew writer here is giving us one really important message: Don’t be careless with your faith!
Beware . We’re being taught that there is danger involved, that we might not know about. The world is a fast-paced place, and it’s very possible that there could be a threat that we don’t even know is there!
Lest . He then tells of the consequence – that some may with an evil heart depart from the faith.
Exhort . Prevention is explained here: exhort one another daily. Have you exhorted someone today? Have you taken a few moments out of your day to encourage someone to continue in Christ? If not, why not?
If . That is a huge 2-letter word. We’ll be partakers in Christ only if we don’t let that happen to us and others. If we continue steadfast.
How have you done? How are you doing? Remember, today can be different. Today will be different, but only if you make the decision that it will be. Will you?

Premillennialism . Big word, but what does it mean? This lesson–the first in a series on Premillennialism–introduces the theory, establishes just how prevalent it is in the modern religious landscape, explores its origins and main tenets, and provides a few Scriptures that should give the Premillennialist pause. Stay tuned for more lessons on this theory in the coming weeks.
