The Bible in Two Words: God Wins

Series: Victory in Jesus

“God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good” (Gen 1:31).

By the end of Genesis 3, our adversary appears to have spoiled it all. In the Revelation to John he is “a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven” (12:3-4). He is identified as “that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world” (12:9).

From Genesis 3 on, curses are a new reality, pain is felt, life is difficult, and death is experienced. Transgression destroys God’s beloved image-bearers; iniquity enslaves God’s children and cheats them out of the fullness of God-bestowed life. Sin shapes, infects, pollutes, and paralyzes.

And yet, God’s written revelation can be summarized in just two words: God wins. How?
