Series: Holy Spirit

Introduction:  Our first goal in studying the Holy Spirit is to learn who He is.  People have many ideas about the Spirit.  Yet, we must make sure our views are found in the Bible.

I.  What are some of the descriptions given to the Holy Spirit in the following passages  (Mark 1:10;  Luke 4:18;  11:13;  Matthew 1:18;  3:16;  10:20;  John 14:16-17;  Heb. 9:14;  10:29;  Eph 4:30)?

II.  What does the word "Godhead" refer to ?  What verses mention the "Godhead?"

III.  In what sense are the three persons in the Godhead "one?"

IV.  What are some of the qualities which lead us to believe in the Holy Spirit as a "person?"  (see 1 Corinthians 2:9-11;  Acts 15:28:  John 16:13-15;  1 Timothy 4:1;  John 15:26;  Ephesians 4:30; Hebrews 10:29;  2 Peter 1:20-21;  Acts 16:6)

V.  What is the role of the Holy Spirit in making us a new, spiritual creation (John 16:13;  Acts 1:8;  1 Corinthians 2:9-10;  Ephesians 3:1-5)?
