David’s Charge to Solomon
Just as Israel was about to receive a new King in 1 Chronicles 28, we are ready to begin anew on many fronts today. As a nation, as a congregation, and probably in our own personal lives, a new start is best accomplished with a defined sense of direction and a committed purpose. David reminds his son Solomon, of the essential things that will define his kingdom and his service before the sovereign God that will either keep him in His care, or cast him off forever (1 Chron.28:9b). David’s charge to his son is still so relevant to us today. (1 Chron. 28:9)
