Peace that Passes Understanding

Source Text: Philippians 4:4-9

As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, what is something you are thankful for?

(1 Thess. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.)

One thing many are thankful for is the peace that comes through loving and obeying our Lord.

We experience a peace that “passes understanding” as Paul records when writing to the Philippians.

Those that have it, enjoy it immensely and want others to have it as well.

We must understand what peace is to fully grasp how to go about finding it.

How do you define peace?

Peace is NOT _______________________ or ______________________________

Peace in the scriptures is defined as the product of something. It is a ________________  _____  ______  _____________

Some practical ways I need to foster a peaceful heart and mind in my life:

  • ________________________________
  • ________________________________
  • ________________________________
  • ________________________________

One (of many) reasons we do not enjoy peace is that we are too focused on self and serving self. Ref. James 4

John 14 as a whole is a wonderful testimony of the peace of mind and heart the Christ desires for us.

We must understand the love of Christ the was able to reconcile us to God our Father as the primary motivating force for our willing obedience to His will.

This will indeed bring us a PEACE THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING!
